Halloween - Bonita Style

Finally, I have found the the time to sit down and update. Geez, I don't know how I'm going to do this when I start school again in February. Halloween was a blast, I helped Josh set up all day the 28th of October for his Halloween Party. The party was a success, with the his house nearing capacity at one point, there was not too much drama either, the dj played good music, and everyone's costumes looked great. Mine took over an hour just to apply, and just as long to take off, but with the help of Alwyn, the metallic gold paint came out great and created the best effect for my costume.

On the 31st, on the actual day of Halloween, which fell on a Tuesday this year, me and the posse went out again, this time to Bourban Street. Also this time however, because of the time and effort of applying the gold metallic body paint, I went without it, so it had a different effect with just my bare skin and black eye band. Also at this point I had a haircut, the look was little different overall.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Recently, I've been feeling that there always seems to be not enough hours in the day to do all the things I need and want to do. Working full time during the week, still slowly setting up my room I moved into in June, daily weight training, visiting family, lunches with friends, bars on the weekends, Tennis on Sundays, usual weekly chores, making lunches and dinners, etc. The list goes on. But it's a good thing, being single and wanting a meaningful relationship can be hard on someone who has a lot of time on their hands. I'm not slowing down my pace either, I’m considering taking a part-time weekend job for extra holiday money until school starts in the Spring semester, so wish me luck and good bye to my social life.

Playing Tennis with Augie, Lu, and Brady

Working 8 to 5.

Mom's Birthday

My mom turned 49 on October the 20th, but we celebrated it the next day on the 21st with lunch. I wanted to take the time and mention my mother. I'm so grateful and proud to have a mother like mine, she raised my brother and I with good morals and ethics. She is the nicest, selfless person I know and is my role model in so many ways, she's endured a lot throughout the years and sacrificed so much to make sure that my brother and I do well in life. She accepted my sexuality, and she tells me constantly how blessed she feels that god gave James and me to her. I don't know what I would do without her, I love you Mama!

Ladytron

So last Wednesday October the 18th, Ladytron performed at Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, it was magical. I just love them so much, their sound is very Electro, Rock, Pop, and Goth House all rolled into one fusion of ecstasy. Plus their look is just so dark and sexy, I can't help but be drawn to them. They played all my favorite songs from "Destroy Everything You Touch" to "Soft Power". And the best was when they played my favorite song ever, "Evil", but it was so much more faster and energetic played live. If I could have the live verson recorded into an mp3, I could have died happy.
Hopefully they'll come back to San Diego again, I'm still contemplating if I should go to their LA show where they'll be DJing at the after party for Halloween. Regardless, it was fun, also since I went with Brady, Rich and Mondo.

Aids Walk & Run

Thankfully, I have been keeping myself busy. So much so that I didn't get to post a blog for almost two weeks know. But to update, I ran the Aids Walk 10k run last Sunday the 1st of October. It kicked my butt.
I started with what I thought was a pace that I could have kept. I started to realize that I wasn't able to maintain it. Instead I eventually settled into a 8min. 35 second mile pace, the same exact pace I have been running on the treadmill for the past 6 months.
The lesson I learned here, don't just use the treadmill for running, run various courses that don't enable you to get stuck on one pace, especially for races. I was hoping to get a time that was not too far from my high school 10k time: 38min. and 36 seconds for 6.2 miles. Instead I got a decent time that I'm still proud of: 53min. and 16 seconds. Also came out at 122nd runner out of 357 total runners, basically in the middle. My goal next time is to come out at the top 25. Now I know I have to train harder for the next one, and not just on the treadmill.

First Attempt

In reference to my last blog, I did try to do some things different this last weekend. I went to an old high school friend's BBQ. It was nice seeing old friends and catching up, afterwards, I met up with the gang at Bourban Street and then Flicks. It was fun, but it still felt a little routine. On Sunday though, I decided to go visit my old fraternity and attend one of their rush events. It was at Balboa Park so it was convienient for me to walk over. Here we are trying to solve a problem with only our feet.

We ended playing a couple of group games, which was fun, I got to meet some of the rushees as well as catch up with some of the brothers.

Me with Diego and Ben.

Repetitions

Lately, It's been the feeling that life is a repetitive cycle, in terms of work, and my social life. There's always the same tasks and people, just like clock work. Same bars, same nights, same schedule, same bills, at a predictable pace. I know it's not avoidable at my income bracket. Naturally, thats how the world works to some degree, there needs to be order, and organization, or otherwise there would be chaos. I do understand this natural order, but I think you don't have to let control your life competely. A lot of people don't let it, and I envy them. So I'm in the process of "changing things up", maybe joining a club, I've been thinking of taking up tennis with my best friend Augie. I don't know. I know I also have to work on my patience, I always want everything now, I think that's a characteristic of my generation. Getting to the point, I've realized that a repetitive lifestyle is not too bad, if you don't let get it out of control. Like weight training, repetitions serve a purpose. Each one you do makes the the muscle bigger, and I've come to compare that to my life. It may seem that things are repetitive now, but the end result would be something great, besides a nice toned muscular build, a hard earned degree and well-earned job. And possibly a successful relationship built on trust, loyalty, and love. So...for now, since I know that repetition is essential to maintain and move foward in life, I just have to figure out to make the best of it. A boyfriend wouldn't hurt, but I think if I can get through this without a boyfriend, then will I be ready for one.

Fun Weekend

This last weekend was actually fun and drama free, we did get a little scare from Lu, but she was okay by the time we got back to my apartment. The whole gang started at Augie and Brady's apartment on Saturday night.

We got our sippy on, then headed to Lei Lounge, then to my apartment.

The best roomie in the world, Joe.

Afterwards, the gang split up, half went to Numbers and the other half including me went to L.L. Bear at Rich's. I love L.L. Bear night, the music and people are just so much more fun than the regular nights.

Something New

I wanted to try something different from the blogs on MySpace, and I've seen other friends' blogs here on Blogger, and I really like them. This site has better formatting, customization, and best yet the option to create a blog directly from my phone, which on MySpace requires you to buy their endorsed phone, the Helio. It would be cool if I could post video directly from my phone, maybe that would be an idea that I could sugget to Google. Anyways, I guess this is the beggining of the archiving of my life...
